They’re here! Valentine’s Mini Sessions! Husbands, oh how your wife (and grandparents) would LOVE being surprised with photos from this session!

“When is this lovely little event?”: Saturday, February 4th & Sunday, February 5th
Saturday Morning: 9, 9:30 (MA), 10(LC), 10:30 (BW), 11 | Saturday Afternoon: 2:00 (TK), 2:30, 3, 3:30
Sunday Afternoon: 2, 2:30, 3, 3:30

“Where is this lovely little event?”: In our brand new “still living out of boxes” studio located in Norman, Oklahoma

“Can you tell me more?”: It’s a 15-20 minute mini-session on a fun Valentine’s Day-colored background… with or without a cute little “We love you” sign. This allows for up to 3 children (or a parent with two children). For more than 3 people, please add $20 per person.

Options:

Mini-Mini: $150

Session + 2 5×7 prints

Mini-Medium: $250

Session + 3 5×7 prints + 1 8×10 print + 1 digital file from mini session

Mini-Large: $500

Session + 3 5×7 prints + 3 photo strip prints (or 25 VDay cards) + All digital files from mini session

After a very busy fall and Christmas season, we are back… fully rested and ready to schedule those last few Senior Portraits sessions. We have very limited space and very few semi-warm days ahead, so contact us this week or next before our last few February sessions fill up! We will not be shooting past March 1st due to the newest member of our family arriving in April. And… if you can schedule back-to-back sessions with your best friend, you get a free mini-session with them (how fun is that?!).

adoption | a “forever home”

We had the privilege of visiting our dear friends in Los Angeles during their adoption process. They are adding two wonderful boys into their family of four. When I tell their story, sometimes people ask, “but, why? and why two children?… isn’t that going to be hard?…. it’s going to be a tough adjustment financially and emotionally…” But, let’s stand and applaud them and their trust in the Lord, instead. No, it won’t be easy… it will be tough from all aspects… but what is the alternative? To leave them in an orphanage? To leave them abandoned? This family is running to the hard things for the glory of Christ and what He has called us to be a part of. They are putting comfort to the side and taking 2 lost boys into their home. They are making room and sacrificing “things” because of their love for Christ and their love for these boys.

Another friend, Katy, writes (and I couldn’t have said it better)…

“Some say adoption is just trendy right now. Celebrities are doing it. I say- perfect. This is a trend I’m delighted to be a part of. Let’s bring orphans home. Lets deplete the foster care system. If it takes a trend, wonderful. But I pray it goes beyond that.

Last I saw there were still about 147 million orphans worldwide. That number is weighty. But there’s hope, and God is really moving the hearts of his people to care for those dear little ones. And I really do believe that’s more than a trend. I (one who calls God ‘Father’) must consider what it would have been like if He had not adopted me into His family.”

Some of my dearest friends are choosing adoption over comfort… they are choosing adoption over having more biological children… they are choosing adoption over a bigger home or family vacations… they are choosing to rescue the lost which will produce more joy than all the material things in the world. We are all called to have a role in caring for orphans. What is your role?

blackberry pie

I must tell you how struck I was by this beautiful, new mom. The first time I met her, she was on my doorstep at 9am with a homemade blackberry pie in hand (blackberries hand-picked at her family’s farm, First Fruits Berry Farm) and an 8 week old baby on her hip…. she had driven an hour for her newborn session and she had risen early that morning to bake the pie so that it was fresh. I tried to figure out what time she must have risen in order to bake, feed her sweet baby, shower, drive an hour and be on my porch looking beautiful at 9am… hmmm. Her kindness and generosity blessed me so much! And, little did she know at the time, this pie was one of the few things that has helped my pregnancy nausea (surprise! we’re expecting!). Thank you, Amy.

perfect evenings

I’m thinking on those “perfect” evenings… those times where we don’t plan to make such an impactful memory with those we love… but they just happen. Don’t you wish during those times you could remember each detail? The way the clouds look, the way the grass feels on your toes, the slight breeze, the way your “special someone” feels snuggled in close? I love summer evenings…

New York Children’s Photography

We cherish each and every time we are able to visit New York City. We have had the pleasure of going about once a year and we’ve slowly grown a wonderful, sweet, and loving client base while there. Well, we are thinking it’s about time for us to visit again and now we only have 3 more spots left for our “In Your City” sessions. These sessions will take place in the beginning of August in Central Park. We’d be delighted to hear from you if you are interested. Hamptons Children’s Photography

I truly enjoy photographing on the beach – even though we don’t get to as often as I’d like. I keep going back to the photographs I captured below… they are among my favorites. It was a breathtaking day and I’ve never seen so much fog… it gave a romantic, quiet feel to these images. Since we hope to visit New York City soon, we wanted to see if there was any interest in the Hamptons area for our “In Your City” or “Day in the Life” sessions.
