We were super-excited when we were able to introduce one of our 2008 High School Seniors to Ashley and Kami from the Brides of Oklahoma for the chance to model for the magazine. We photographed her for a couple of different spreads and these shots are our favorite! Check out the magazine’s blog for more wedding ideas and a “behind the scenes” video of the photo session shot at the Golf Club of Oklahoma by the amazing Von Wedding Films.image00111bok0808-2054image0008smhbok0908-670bok0908-616

Elizabeth was one of those girls… you know the type who just looks stunning whether she is laughing or serious. She was so relaxed and composed the whole day. She and Jordan chose to see each other before the wedding, so we had the opportunity to capture some amazing shots. One of my favorite memories is when they had the Rolls Royce take them by Old Navy to buy her a pair of flip-flops before the reception.

Ramsey and Daniel have a sweet love story that dates back to high school. I could see that she has found the man who will take care of her forever. These two are the best of friends and so in love. I love seeing those kind of relationships. I love the 2 images where he is delicately holding her hand and leading her out the door… just precious (perfect example of how Steve and I can document your wedding together – these were shot at the same time from different angles).

I got goosebumps as a gospel choir welcomed her down the aisle singing loud praises. My favorite song they sang that evening was, “Oh Happy Day!”. Wow! What a wonderful idea for a wedding ceremony. It was truly amazing.

And lastly, the day would not have been the same without the coordination of the wonderful Valerie Noah. She was a delight to work with!

Ramsey (and mom, Susan)… thanks again for making this evening such a fun one to document.  Your family is precious to us!

I truly enjoyed meeting Stacy and photographing her bridal portraits. She looked amazing in her gown and veil… and I loved how she chose to wear her beautiful red hair in long, soft curls. Just stunning!

The moment i received an email from Kari (only a couple of days after her surprise engagement in Walt Disney World), I just knew that I had to meet her… and I knew, just from her words and tone, that I really wanted to photograph her wedding. Kari has the most joyful, delightful, and contagious personality. She truly valued photography and wanted her and Scott’s day to be beautifully documented. I loved knowing that because it allowed me to give her suggestions on little things that make a big difference in photos. One of those things being “getting ready” shots. She was getting married in a tiny church in Clinton, Oklahoma and it did not have a great room to get dressed in. Luckily, Kari had a friend in Clinton who offered her house. This home was the perfect backdrop for the first couple of hours of photographs. Huge windows (ie: lots of natural light), beautiful art on the walls, etc…

You could see Kari’s passion shine through in each detail of the wedding. Each thing or person included was there was for a reason… the candles as she walked down the aisle to meet her groom, Lauren Nelson’s beautiful voice filling the sanctuary, the tent-like feel that was created for the reception, even the miniature iced mochas and candy buffet.

And what has been so fun about photographing weddings is that i get to know each of my brides. They become friends… a lot of whom I am still in contact with years after they marry. Kari and Scott, it’s been so fun… I look forward to documenting your family for years and years to come.
